Booking in is simple
You don't need a referral to see me.
If you'd like to claim a Medicare rebate, a referral from your GP makes that possible. Here's how appointments and referrals work.
In person, or telehealth
Choose whichever format suits you best — many clients move between the two depending on what's going on in their life.
At the practice in Wangara
Sessions are held at 2B / 32 Prindiville Drive, Wangara WA — a calm, private space for individual sessions and assessments.
From anywhere in Australia
Video sessions for adults are available Australia-wide — a flexible option if travel, time or location makes in-person visits difficult.
Do I need a referral?
Short answer: no, not to book. A referral is only relevant if you want to access a Medicare rebate.
Self-referral
You're welcome to book directly, at any time, without a referral from anyone. Many clients come this way — simply get in touch or book online.
GP Mental Health Treatment Plan
Visit your GP and ask about a Mental Health Treatment Plan under the Better Access initiative. This lets you claim a Medicare rebate on eligible sessions, and gives us your GP's referral details for our records.
NDIS-funded support
NDIS self-managed and plan-managed funding can be discussed. Get in touch and we'll confirm what's needed from your plan.
Referrals for young people
Parents can book directly for a child or teen. If you're hoping to use a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan for your child, the same referral process applies as for adults.
From first contact to first session
Get in touch or book online
Book directly online, or start with a free 15-minute phone call if you'd like to chat first about whether I'm the right fit.
Let us know about any referral
If you have a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan or an NDIS plan, mention it when you book so we can set up your file correctly for rebates or funding.
Complete a short intake form
Before your first session you'll be sent a short form. It helps us make the most of our time together from the very first appointment.
Attend your first session
Come in person to Wangara, or join by telehealth. Your first session is mostly about getting to know you and what's brought you here.
Appointments & referrals FAQ
Can I book without a referral?
Yes. You don't need a referral from a GP or anyone else to book an appointment. A referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan is only needed if you want to access a Medicare rebate.
How do I get a Mental Health Treatment Plan?
Book an appointment with your GP and ask about a Mental Health Treatment Plan under the Better Access initiative. They'll assess your eligibility and, if appropriate, refer you for a set number of sessions with a rebate attached.
What if I'm booking for my child?
Parents or guardians can book directly for children and teens. Bring along any relevant background — for example, if a teacher or GP has raised concerns — but this isn't required in order to book.
Is telehealth available for children too?
Telehealth is available for many appointment types. For younger children, in-person, play-based sessions are usually more suitable — we can talk through what will work best for your child.
What happens after I book?
You'll receive a confirmation along with a short intake form to complete beforehand. If you have a referral or NDIS plan, you can send those through before your first session.

A Space Designed for Comfort and Connection
Our rooms have been thoughtfully designed to create a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment where children, adolescents and adults can feel safe and supported. We understand that beginning therapy can sometimes feel unfamiliar, which is why creating a calm space that encourages trust and connection is an important part of the therapeutic process.
For children, the room provides opportunities to explore, play, create and express themselves in ways that feel natural and comfortable. For adolescents and adults, the space aims to provide a calm and supportive environment where they can feel heard, understood and comfortable exploring experiences at their own pace.
A waiting lounge is available with comfortable seating as you wait for your child. Alternatively, coffee shops and markets are just a few steps away from our clinic.
What makes the space different
- Warm, carefully considered design — not clinical or cold
- Play materials and creative tools throughout the children's space
- Separate waiting area so sessions feel private and contained
- Quiet location with easy parking — low stress from the moment you arrive
- Accessible for all ages — children through to adults
- Coffee and markets nearby for parents during sessions
